Technique used to create Isa K.'s Metal collection
Isa K. draws and cuts out her subject by hand on large aluminium plates. Each work is different and therefore unique.
The Converse trainers and Vespas are painted with acrylics, mainly using a brush with touches applied with a knife. The hanging system is then attached.
Isa K. delegates the application of the finishing varnish to a bodywork specialist in Brive La Gaillarde who specialises in restoring classic cars.
This professional, who loves beautiful things, applies multiple layers of automotive varnish with intermediate sanding. This varnish gradually takes on the appearance of a resin with a "mirror" effect.
