At the crossroads of today's techniques, Romann shoots in silver, develops his films himself, then digitizes them with a scanner dedicated to negatives. Inhabited by memories, carried by his time, his universe, sometimes strongly graphic, sometimes grainy, blurred and dark, conceals multiple and irreconcilable tensions. It's a complex vision, sometimes oversimplified to the extreme, written on journeys that are both dreamlike and solitary, most often through neglected countryside, but also on cold city sidewalks.
