Born in Auxerre, Yonne (89) in 1969, Bénédicte Lajarrige has lived and worked in Provence since 2003.
Her early encounter with painter and family friend Serge de Turville (1924-2005) marked the birth of her vocation. The emotional shock she felt in front of one of his canvases has guided her artistic research ever since.
A self-taught painter,
With color and its variations, she creates her palette, in search of sensations and harmonies.
Using knives, spatulas and oils, she abandons herself, giving free rein to the expression of color and light; freeing her gesture, she finds the rhythm and breath of her composition, releasing energy.
